Hair Loss Causes and Herbal Remedies for Hair Loss

Hair is a slight threadlike outgrowth of protein on the skin of the skull. The hair is a reflection of our way of life! As soon as we stressed, tired, ill, it has an impact on our hair. It becomes muffled, brickle, and sometimes fall. The hair falls (45 to 60 per day) and regenerated permanently. This type of hair loss is normal, every one experiences it once a while. The normal hair loss occurs largely in the belated summer and spring. A hair loss of more than 60 hairs per day is seen inordinate; it disserves attention.

Hair Loss Hits the Young

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2006

Stereotypes of bald men usually focus on the middle-aged man (and beyond). What many people do not know is that hair loss can actually start as early as the late teens. Many young men in their twenties can show significant hair loss and clear signs of genetic male pattern baldness. At this age, hair loss can be devastating for one’s self esteem. Society is not as accepting of baldness in the young as in middle age. In fact, it is more accepting of total baldness (when one elects to have a shaved head) than an eroding hairline. With so much emphasis on the youth culture, it is no wonder that young men with thinning hair who feel that they appear older feel cheated and self-conscious.

According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, “the first hair sign likely to occur is thinning in the temporal area of the frontal hairline, above the eyebrows on either side of the “widow’s peak.” This can result in the appearance of a high forehead. The young man may also begin to notice excess shedding when he combs, brushes, showers or shampoos his hair.”

The ISHRS further explains that loss of hair before age 21 can be very disturbing for a young man, often leaving him feeling less attractive socially and hindered in the job market. He can be an easy target for expensive but bogus “miracle cures” advertised on TV or the Internet.

The American Academy of Dermatology statistics show that male pattern baldness affects nearly 50 million men in the United States. About 20 per cent of Caucasian men begin to experience this condition by age 20.

There is, however, effective medical help for hair loss for younger men (and men at any age). It is best to first consult your doctor to determine if there are any medical causes of the hair from immune system disorders, prescription drug reactions, skin diseases, nutritional deficiencies, hair damaging products, etc. These conditions require an alternative mode of treatment than genetic male-pattern baldness (androgen-dependent alopecia).

Treatment Options for Male Pattern Baldness:

Minoxidil: This topical medication can slow down or help halt hair loss in some cases, and help regrow hair on the vertex of the head in some cases. To remain effective, it must be used on a daily basis.

Propecia®: A tablet taken once a day and available by doctor’s prescription only. According to manufacturer Merck, an estimated one million men in the United States take this medication daily to interrupt the formation of the hormone DHT, one of the principal factors in male pattern hair loss. According to recent studies, Propecia® has been shown to help slow down the progressive thinning of hair in 90% of male users over five years. In the same study, of men who were not taking active drug (placebo), 100 % of these men lost hair over the five-year period. (5-year clinical analyzed were conducted on men 18 and older). Men who are already “shiny bald” are unlikely to have positive results because the hair follicles may not be salvageable. Men who have early thinning the back or top of the head have a better chance of obtaining some benefit, but only for as long as they proceeding taking the medication.

Hair Transplantation: Modern follicular unit transplantation is the state-of-the art cosmetic surgical procedure used to restore a thinning hairline and add density to the crown. It is a safe in-office medical procedure that redistributes healthy hair follicles from non-thinning areas at the sides and very back of the head (where you have more than you need) to the thinning or balding areas on top (where you need it more). This procedure is recommended lone after careful medical evaluation of younger patients. It may be determining that waiting until the mid to late twenties is outdo to begin surgical hair restoration, if it is deemed to be an appropriate treatment option.

According to world-renowned hair loss expert, Ken Washenik, M.D., Ph.D., and Bosley Medical Director, “hair transplantation is unusual before age 21, although it may be a viable option for men in their later twenties and beyond as the baldness progresses. It is important for the hair transplantation physician to consider the long-term effects of male pattern baldness and to design hair restoration that will be appropriate as the individual ages.”

How To Stop Baldness – Grow More Hair At This Time

Definition of Baldness
Common baldness, sometimes called male- or female-pattern baldness, accounts for 99 percent of hair loss in men and women.
Although its exact causes are unidentified, heredity, hormones and age are causative factors. Unlike hair loss resultant from disease or other non-hereditary factor, hair loss due to common hairlessness is permanent.
Male hairlessness usually begins with tapering at the hairline, followed by the appearance of a weak or bald spot on the circlet of the head.
Women with common baldness rarely develop bald patches. Instead, they experience a spreading tapering of their hair.

In general, most hair loss is not linked with systemic or internal disease, nor is poor diet a recurrent factor.
Thyroid sickness can cause hair loss, but thyroid tests on public who have ordinary hair loss are usually normal. Although many medications list “hair loss” among their possible side effects, drugs are also not overall ordinary causes of tapering or lost hair.
On the other hand, with cancer treatments and protected suppression medications, hair loss is not infrequent.
Symptoms of Baldness
The typical pattern of male baldness begins at the hairline. The hairline gradually recedes to form a “M” shape. The existing hair may become finer and shorter.
The hair at the crown also begin to thin. Eventually the top of the hairline meets the weak crown, leaving a mascot pattern of hair approximately the sides of the head.
Hair loss in patch, diffuse shedding of hair, breaking of hair shafts, or hair loss linked with redness, scaling, pain, or rapid succession could be caused by other conditions.
Treatment of Baldness
There is no cure for common baldness, but surgical hair replacement can give you back a head of your ain hair. Available since the 1950s, surgical hair replacement is a low-risk procedure.
Surgeons take away tiny plugs (grafts) of your hair-bearing clamber and remove them into tiny holes made in your sell. They take these plugs from the band of hair extend from above your ears about the back of your scalp.

There is this model who wrote a blog on global grind and she states that she was anorexic?

Question by MiMiLuvsU: There is this model who wrote a blog on planetary crunch and she states that she was anorexic?
There is this model who wrote a blog on global grind and she states that she was anorexic for about 7 yrs. In her blog she says “I cut my hair because I’m losing my hair, its actually falling out but I’m on the road to the recovery. For the third time in my life I am undergoing treatments to prevent more hair loss.” Now my question is if she no longer suffers from “anorexia” then why is she losing hair? As well as, going for treatment for the hair loss when your in recovery for anorexia it stops falling out? Am I right or wrong about that? So what is with her going for “treatment for her hairloss” when she states that it was from being anorexic? To me I don’t believe that she was ever anorexic. Do you think that this model is just saying that for publicity and trying to gain a fanbase and have people feel sorry for her? Also, to me if she was “anorexic” and has that mental unstability then why would she go on another diet to lose more weight to enter a fitness competition that doesn’t make sense to me. So please elaborate on this and give me ur opinion. I just believe she is a fake person.

Best answer:

Answer by Dr. DOLY
FIRST, anorexia can damage a lot of functions in the body and even after treatment a lot of things could remain (like hair loosing); – SECOND, instead of anorexic behaviour she was recommended normal weight control methodologies – discover all about anorexia – see section HOT TOPICS
